Subjects: SSAT/ISEE/Secondary School Admissions Tests

SSAT

The SSAT is a multiple choice test given to students in grades 3 through 11.  There are three levels of testing:

Elementary (students currently in grades 3-4)
Middle (students currently in grades 5-7)
Upper (students currently in grades 8-11)

 

ISEE

The ISEE is a multiple choice test given to students in grades 4 through 11.  There are three levels of testing:

Lower (students currently in grades 4-5)
Middle (students currently in grades 6-7)
Upper (students currently in grades 8-11)

 

HSPT

The High School Placement Test, or HSPT, is given to eighth-graders seeking admission to specific Catholic high schools. Schools use exam results to make admissions decisions, to place applicants, and to determine scholarship awards.

 

TACHS

TACHS is the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools. It is used in determing admission to the Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens or the Archdiocese of New York

 

SCAT

The School and College Ability Test, or SCAT, is the exam used by the Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY) and is given to students in grades 2 through 8. Our founder, Steve, participated in the CTY programs in the summer of 1983!
